Off Beat: Jeff Nuttall and the International Underground

Past event at The John Rylands Library

Sun 26 Feb

Entry from Free

A prolific artist, poet, musician, author and publisher, Jeff Nuttall was one of the few people in the early 1960s to publish William S. Burroughs' most experimental writing.

Yet, despite being one of the most pivotal figures in British counterculture, the Lancastrian-born polymath is little remembered today. The John Rylands Library’s provocative new exhibition is set to change that with this new exhibition, exploring Nuttall’s pioneering use of art as rebellion is a template for modern activism.

Warning: rude stuff!
