Down To Earth Organic

Healthy, locally-sourced, ethically-produced organic food that still tastes good. This was the quest which the team behind Down To Earth chose to embark upon. There were doubters, of course, folks who saw their whole endeavour as modern day alchemy,  dismissing them as deluded romantics striving after a thing which, while glorious, simply was not possible. Organic food is basically that nutritious grey mush they have to eat once they leave the Matrix, we all know this to be true.

 But now, on Partick’s Dumbarton Road, Down To Earth stands in proud defiance to conventional wisdom, holding aloft a menu packed with great tasting, hangover-banishing comfort food without an steroid, pesticide or additive in sight.  Their commitment to the organic way extents to every fibre of the restaurant’s being, literally – the furniture is crafted from reclaimed or recycled wood and all of the packaging is fully biodegradable.

There are sections of Celtic Park that aren’t this green.

 They even have all organic beer and cider. You can get drunk while being environmentally conscious and totally (sort of) healthy! (I mean it’s still alcohol, they’re not wizards but come on). With plans to build their own greenhouse and a pair of wind turbines, Down To Earth is aiming to become a place where you can grab a filling and delicious meal while also learning a little about how to go organic without going insane.
