SWG3

Located in an archway by the motorway in Glasgow's West End, SWG3 is a multi disciplinary arts venue and events company, housing artists' studios, a gallery, and an occasional bar, which in turn are used to showcase the work of new artists, as well as for launch parties, club nights, mini-festivals and much more besides.

The studio is a non-profit organisation, and home to a community of over 120 artists and musicians. The exhibitions are almost always innovative, engaging and worth a look, and a studio space there is swift becoming the holy grail of post-graduate locations. 

SWG3 is also a pretty successful gig venue – in recent years, it's developed into a multi-room space with gig spaces ranging from the intimate to the enormous. SWG3 hosts a programme of live music which straddles all manner of genre, from local musicians and touring artists alike.

Galvanizers is the newest addition to SWG3: a 6000sq ft clear span venue, with an adjacent outdoor space (the Yard) that's been used for large-scale outdoor gigs and an international graffiti festival. Indeed, since SWG3's opening, grassroots galleries have mushroomed in the surrounding arches, making a stroll down Eastvale Place a definite must for the curious art aficionado.
