The Kibble Palace is the highlight of Glasgow's Botanic Gardens – no mean feat considering how bonnie this park is. It has a pretty grand title, and an illustrious past – opened in the Gardens in 1873, it had been dismantled and transported from its original location at John Kibble’s home at Loch Long. Made from wrought iron and glass, this greenhouse is home to all manners of tropical plants, specialising in Australasian specimens. Peaceful, warm and relaxing, it’s the perfect place for a contemplative stroll, or a quiet pit stop when shopping in the west end. It also hosts a wide range of events throughout the year.
