Located close to Victoria Station, Manchester Cathedral regularly doubles up as a contemporary live music venue. The awe-inspiring church is one of many in Greater Manchester which uses its space as an alternative to the standard live music venue, creating an entirely different atmosphere within its ethereal setting. The cathedral has previously seen performances from the likes of Bat For Lashes, Sharon Van Etten and St Vincent, and has also hosted a festivals such as Dot To Dot, Columns and Manchester Literature Festival over the past couple of years. As well as hosting more modern sounds, the cathedral regularly stages organ recitals and performances by local and national choirs and orchestras including the Manchester Camerata. The cathedral also has a visitor centre with an exhibition room, most notably featuring the 15th century Hanging Bridge, which was once the main access point to the church but was buried for over 100 years.
