Its list of artist alumni is a who's who of indie-pop bliss from Scissor Sisters to Stereophonics, so you'd expect Manchester's Roadhouse to be an echoey warehouse of a venue; yet this basement club is surprisingly intimate, heightening the electricity of the performances. Roadhouse's weekly club nights - including the electro-themed "Sex With Robots" - are also safe bets for a hugely enjoyable evening.
