Hidden away on Argyle Street, Sloans at first seems like a dingy old man's pub, thanks perhaps to the excessive mahogany finishings, and offering as many ales and heavys as lagers. But the smartly-dressed, friendly staff, and the up-to-date music playlist, create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Up the grand staircase, to the second floor, you will find the appropriately named Snug Bar, and the tastefully-decorated, fine dining restaurant with a quality menu featuring homemade delicacies to please the meat lovers and the veggies alike. What makes Sloans something special, though, is the exquisite Ballroom on the top floor with its elabourate high arched ceiling, perfect for both lively ceilidhs and inimate gigs alike.
