La Cheetah Club
Situated on Queen Street in the city centre, Max's and La Cheetah make up a bar/club combo not to be messed with. Upstairs the former décor of The Twisted Wheel has been stripped back and Max's Bar and Grill has moved in. At weekends a mix of music lovers and workers from the surrounding Merchant City area fill the room until 3am, enjoying the sounds of the in-house DJ and the cheap drinks promos. Max's have some unique options on draft and a decent range of spirits stacked up on shelves behind the bar for easy perusing. The grill serves a mix of reasonably priced bar food and some unusual snacks, including peanut butter pretzels. One word: yum.
Downstairs, La Cheetah club offers a mixture of club nights offering keen clubbers an eclectic bill of techno, dubstep, house, electro and rock'n'roll, with regular big name touring acts. Also boasting its own bar, you need never stray from the delights of the basement club's massive sound system and packed dancefloor.
