Barrowland

One of Glasgow's oldest and most excellent gig venues, the acoustically superb and brilliantly retro Barrowlands' Ballroom attracts the greats of indie, rock, alternative and metal. The downstairs area offers plenty of standing room for those who like edging close enough to the stage to be within stroking distance of the bands, while the upper, largely seated balcony is, although a little removed from the atmosphere below, a lot closer to the bar. Barrowlands is a definite must-see in its own right, regardless of who's on the bill.
