Cottiers Theatre

Situated amid Hyndland’s leafy sprawl is Cottiers Theatre, a gorgeous converted church that houses a bar, restaurant and a theatre. After a five-year hiatus, the theatre re-opened in 2011, featuring a wide variety of performances from amatuer productions to musical comedy, details of which can be found on the website: www.cottiers.com.

The building itself is honest and beautiful, with a generous smattering of candles and fairy lights to add to its charm. There's also an open fire for winter-y nights, and the large outdoor seating area in combination with the lovely, green surroudings makes for extremely pleasant summer-day boozing. The restaurant and bar, previously known for its South American-inspired dishes, now favours fresh, Scottish dishes – so expect a range of seafood and beef dishes originating not too far from home.
