One of Aberdeens greatest institutions, which somehow manages to feel like a curious continental 'coffee' house and its certainly well loved by its regular crowd. It is somewhat inconsistent and its menu can be over-ambitious but on a good day it provides wonderful food, interesting beers and beverages and a decent tune or two. The low lighting reveals tasteful artwork and photographs and it is rough enough around the edges to avoid any pretentiousness. Outside seating is available on the courtyard for those odd sunny days.
