Nardini’s, of Ayrshire ice cream fame, has travelled east to Edinburgh and has transformed the old Bruntsfield Post Office into an ice cream emporium. Luxurious ice creams, Italian coffees and patisserie are on offer in the Edinburgh branch of the originally 'Wegian ice cream giant. Nardini’s offers every kind of ice cream imaginable (well...about 32 flavours, anyway) from the double vanilla classic to the legendary Clyde Coast Extravaganza - which. not for the faint hearted/lactose intolerant, is a monstrously-sized sundae made up of no less than twelve scoops of Nardin’s ice cream and sixteen toppings. Unless you are Adam Richman (and let's face it, who is...apart from Adam Richman) it’s probably best to attempt this beast with a buddy. Or four.

If you're chasing flavours, you'll be happy to stumble upon options like IRN BRU, Bubblegum and Coffee Macchiato...but customers feeling just that little smidgen more conservative can also sample an ol' mint choc chip, or perhaps a wee scoop of froyo. Delizioso. [Kate Pasola]
