ICHI – 2 Klaxons: Video Premiere

Watch the video for 2 Klaxons by Bristol-based Japanese multi-instrumentalist and performance artist ICHI.

ICHI's sound blends found elements as well as the sounds from a host of handmade instruments created by the man himself. Describing 2 Klaxons, ICHI says: "Born from a dislike of angry car hoots, this song plays with the notion of cars trading their horns for animal sounds."

The track is taken from ICHI's forthcoming third album Maru, his first to be released via Eigg-based record label Lost Map; he performed at the label's Howlin' Fling festival on the island's Hebridean home in 2014, putting in what our reviewer described as "the most fascinating performance of the weekend".

In the video for the typically idiosyncratic track, the Nagoya native journeys around Bristol in a cat costume complete with a Frank Sidebottom-esque oversized head. Maru features contributions from Lost Map labelmate Rozi Plain, and Kate Stables of This Is The Kit; the album is out on 18 March via Lost Map. Details of ICHI's forthcoming live shows across the UK can be found below.
