Sightings of Thurston Moore may have become somewhat more frequent on this side of the pond since the Sonic Youth veteran relocated to London in 2013, but his latest project is markedly different to his work with the Thurston Moore Band.

Between 26 February-4 March, Moore will team up with London-based poet Radieaux Radio (who previously worked with Moore on his most recent album The Best Day) at Salford's Islington Mill, where the pair will study the sounds of the city via field recordings and art. Entitled Watch the Sky, the project will result in a 7" vinyl record including songs, liner notes and original art, to be released on the Samarbeta record label.

In addition to Radieaux Radio, Moore will announce further collaborators (from both rock and classical music backgrounds) for the project, which will also include a poetry reading from his 2015 book Stereo Sanctity: Lyrics & Poems, plus a live performance in the Fat Out's Burrow space at Islington Mill.

This is the latest in a series of residencies organised by Samarbeta, a collaboration between Fat Out 'Til You Pass Out's Emma Thompson and Sounds From the Other City's Rivca Burns. Previous residencies have featured work by Lydia Lunch, This Heat's Charles Hayward and Ex-Easter Island Head.
