Dot to Dot festival, Manchester: the local acts

Dot to Dot announce the local talent playing at this year's festival.

It’s official, this year’s Dot to Dot festival, which began life back in 2005, will be the biggest yet, with over 130 acts playing across the 27-29 May weekend in Manchester (27 May), Bristol (28 May) and Nottingham (29 May), with the Manchester leg of the festival taking over venues around the Northern Quarter such as Soup KitchenGullivers and Night and Day

Already announced are headliners Mystery Jets, along with the likes of Brooklyn rockers Augustines and anthemic indie lot The Temper Trap.

In its previous ten editions, Dot to Dot has established itself as one of the liveliest city festivals, and the perfect place for unearthing exciting local talent emerging on the Manchester scene. Today the festival announced its lineup of new acts.

Keep your eye out for four-piece post-punk project Spring King, North Staffordshire-based sleek electronic indies Delamere, pop duo Girl Friend, and Pale Waves, who describe their sound as “90s inspired indie pop feels, drenched in reverb and glitter.”

The rest of the Manchester-based acts released today include (deep breath) All Hail Hyena, Barron, Billy Bibby, Blooms, Bruja, Calan, Mai, Carl North, Cassie, Ethan and the Reformation, Fairchild, Feed the Kid, Ist Ist, Jordan Allen, La Boum Fatale, Ladies’ Darts Night, Liines, Louie Louie ,Mary Joanna, Mums, Nude, Pines, Poppy WS, Puppet Rebellion, Richard McNevin-Duff, Sam Frost, Strange Bones, The Bear Around Your Neck, Thing and Young War. That’s a heck of a lot of new bands to soak up, all for 25 of your English pounds.

The last remaining tickets can be purchased at dottodotfestival.co.uk. As well as all the music, wristband holders also get special deals on grub from some of the Northern Quarter's favourite eateries, likes Delhi2Go, Soup Kitchen and Dough, and you can stock up on vintage threads with a discount at the mighty COW too.
