Fans can submit their questions for the I'm Alan Partridge and The Thick of It director via Twitter, using the hashtag #AskArmando, from 18-23 April. Iannucci will select some of his favourites, and the pre-recorded question-and-answer session will be shown following a screening of Iannucci's 2010 Iraq War satire In The Loop, starring Peter Capaldi, Chris Addison and the late James Gandolfini of The Sopranos, on 14 May.

A Glasgow native, Iannucci co-wrote classic Steve Coogan sitcom I'm Alan Partridge, created the groundbreaking political satire The Thick of It and its transatlantic counterpart Veep, and has also worked alongside satirist Chris Morris on pioneering news spoof The Day Today, as well as collaborating with Stewart Lee on his BBC Two series Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle.

Restless Natives' Halina Rifai said: "Armando is not only one of the country's top TV comedy producers, but his credits also span critically acclaimed features for radio and film. Given he is one of the most influential and prominent writers to emerge from Scotland, it’s not only an honour for Restless Natives to be screening In The Loop, but also to have the ingenious satirist put his name to the festival."

Iannucci joins a Restless Natives film line-up which features a Skype Q&A with Minor Threat and Fugazi legend Ian Mackaye, as well as screenings of Couple in a Hole (followed by a Q&A with BEAK> duo Geoff Barrow and Billy Fuller), documentary The Ambiguity Of David Thomas Broughton, cult classic The Room, and Blood, Sweat and Vinyl: DIY in the 21st Century, featuring contributions from Neurosis, ISIS and Godspeed You! Black Emperor

In music, Restless Natives features shows from Wu-Tang Clan's Ghostface Killah, agit rock outfit Future of the Left, Canadian electronic composerTim Hecker, emo mainstay Evan Thomas Weiss's Into It. Over It. project and a clutch of homegrown acts including Tuff Love and Happy Meals.

In The Loop and the exclusive Restless Natives Q&A with Armando Iannucci will screen at Drygate on Saturday 14 May.
