Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2016: The Nominees

The nominees for this year's Edinburgh Comedy Awards have been announced

Richard Gadd's Monkey See Monkey Do is among the eight shows nominated for the Best Comedy Show award, with Zoe Coombs Marr – winner of the Barry Award for best comedy show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival – also nominated for her new show Trigger Warning.

A trio of acts are nominated for the second year running – James Acaster is once again nominated for the main award for his new show Reset, with Nish Kumar and Kieran Hodgson nominated for Actions Speak Louder Than Words, Unless You Shout The Words Real Loud and Maestro respectively. Tom Ballard: The World Keeps Happening, Al Porter: At Large and Randy Writes A Novel complete the shortlist.

Bilal Zafar, Brennan Reece, Jayde Adams, Michelle Wolf, Nath Valvo and Scott Gibson are nominated for this year's Best Newcomer award.

The winners of this year's Edinburgh Comedy Awards for Best Show and Best Newcomer will be announced on Saturday 27 August, along with the winner of this year's Panel Prize.
