Don't-miss parties this week:

Sat 2 Jul

LTJ Bukem & MC Ruthless
Buyers Club, 10pm, £10

Drum'n'bass architect LTJ Bukem plays his first set in Liverpool for many years, with serious hype from MC Ruthless and support from Chibuku and Bassdrive DJs. Should be one pacey, percussive night in one of the best new live spaces in Liverpool.

303 residents party
Constellations, 12pm, pay what you like

Expect a summery soundworld of disco, house, trance, techno and beyond from Gemma Muir, Samuel Lamont and Stuart Hodson at this free/donations party (we encourage you to dig deep; all money will be going to the Whitechapel Centre for the homeless). Promoters 303 have been putting on boss shows for a few years now; this is their first residents' night, with a special guest TBA.

Hustle x No Fakin' presents Amp Fiddler
with Yam Who & Phil Charnock
24 Kitchen Street, 8 Jul, 8pm, £9/£12

It's a Liverpool first for Amp Fiddler, as Hustle and No Fakin' bring the Detroit native into town for his city debut. A chameleonic figure, Amp has shared stages with some of music's biggest icons over the last couple of decades and should turn Kitchen Street into a humid soup of soul, funk and sweat in no time. There's a pre-party at Botanical Garden from 5pm too if you fancy.

mUmU sessions: Gary Beck & Lee Rands all night long
New Bird Street Warehouse, 29 Jul, 10pm, £13

Limited to 200 tickets, the seventh #session from Liverpool faves mUmU brings Scottish techno head Gary Beck into the fold with mUmU co-conspirator Lee Rands, for six hours of proper hardcore stuff (have a listen). mUmu say it's the first time they've thrown this party on a Friday; help give 'em that Friday feeling, would you?

STATK present Adam Shelton & MR KS
New Bird Street Warehouse, 19 Aug, 7pm, £8/£12

A big one from the STATK crew, as they take over the Botanical Garden from 7pm and continue through to 4am with One Records founder Adam Shelton. They've got a carefully engineered journey through several dimensions planned – check the Facebook page for specifics – but the main thing to know is that this'll be one of the biggest nights in August, and it doesn't even fall on the bank holiday weekend.

Festival watch

You're on red alert for Farr Festival (Hertfordshire, 14-16 Jul), which offers Francis Inferno Orchestra, Helena Hauff, Moomin and loads more. Eyes to the fest's Facebook for ticket alerts and final details.

Keep an eye on bluedot festival (Jodrell Bank, 22-24 Jul), as well: worth the very short trip into Cheshire for Ben UFO, Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve, George Fitzgerald and more all playing in the shadow of a massive bloody telescope. And that's just for starters...
