Back to Basics 25th anniversary @ Church, 26 Nov

In their 25th year, Leeds' longest-running club night Back to Basics have unveiled their very own venue, Church – a chapel kitted out for epic parties with an adjacent music academy. This Saturday is their official birthday date and they're bringing in US DJ Erick Morillo midway through his Subliminal tour.

To celebrate this landmark anniversary, we asked some of the world's biggest DJs, as well as the Back to Basics residents, what the night has meant to them over the years – find out what Adam Shelton, DJ Harvey, Paul Oakenfold and many more had to say, here. From 11pm, £20

Funk Soul Nation presents Horse Meat Disco @ The HiFi Club, 2 Dec 

From cosmic to deep disco, Italo, punk and plain old oddities, four-man troupe Horse Meat Disco are infallible on the dancefloor. Leeds gets a good going-over from them next Fri – book ahead. From 11pm, £8
