Don't-miss parties this week:

Fri 24 Jun

Halcyon launch party
with Jey Kurmis, Latmun & more
Constellations, 10pm, £10

New party Halcyon starts as it means to go on, bringing Leeds head Jey Kurmis and Lost Records' Latmun to the 'warehouse jungle' of Constellations (the garden will be open 'til midnight). They're joined by JMAC and b2b sets from Mia Mendi/Meti Memeti and Fraser Elliot/Jordan Mullen, and are promising 'true soulful vibes' for those who can't be arsed to go to Glasto/Hideout etc. Let the festival come to you, we say.

Sat 25 Jun

DJ Premier
Arts Club, 11pm, £18

A handful of tickets remain for NYC heavyweight DJ Premier, the man responsible for some of the 90s and 00s biggest sounds through his time with Gang Starr and production credits on Illmatic and Ready to Die. This is the first time he's played in Liverpool in more than ten years. You know what to do.

Next week...

Sat 2 Jul

303 residents party
Constellations, 12pm, pay what you like

A free party this, if you want it to be, but we encourage you to donate what you can; all ticket money will be going to the Whitechapel Centre for the homeless. Promoters 303 have been putting on good shows for a few years now, but this is their first residents' party, and they'll be unveiling a special guest nearer the time. Expect a summery soundworld – disco to house, trance to techno – from Gemma Muir, Samuel Lamont and Stuart Hodson, plus that mystery artist.

Festival watch

Tickets are running low for Farr Festival (14-16 Jul), which offers Francis Inferno Orchestra, Helena Hauff, Moomin and loads more in lovely Hertfordshire (road trip!). According to the fest's Facebook there are fewer than 100 weekend and 50 Saturday day tickets remaining, so get a move on if you fancy it.

Watch those ticket levels for bluedot festival (22-24 Jul), as well: Ben UFO, George Fitzgerald and Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve all playing under the shadow of Jodrell Bank space observatory?! And that's just the beginning...
