Tuesday 14 June

Glasgow's Good Press bookshop starts the week, hosting a book launch by Glasgow School of Art Photography students from 4-7pm. There will be publications for sale and refreshments to hand.

Thursday 16 June

This Thursday marks the beginning of Print Festival Scotland 2016, and a whole range of related exhibitons and workshops that are part of its run from 16-26 June. In Aberdeen's Peacock Visual Arts from 6-8pm, artist Jamie Davidson presents Knowing not Knowing, a new series of printed and sculptural works that have come from a three-month residency in Japan.

Also as part of Print Festival, Dip Your Toe takes place in Glasgow, in Govanhill Baths. Five printmakers use a cubicle each to show their own distinctive and contemporary take on printmaking – the preview on Thursday takes place from 6-9pm.

In Edinburgh, meanwhile, Embassy preview their new group show When I am you Then I am Know Myself from 7-10pm. For this exhibition, they've invited studio holders and members of artist-run space Two Queens in Leicester.

Friday 17 June

It's Embassy Annuale 2016! Co-ordinated by the titular Edinburgh gallery, this grassroots festival takes place from 17 Jun-3 Jul (online and in venues across the city). You can read an introduction to the whole thing here, as written by ECA degree show exhibitor Daisy Lafarge. Be sure to catch The Corridor Illusion in the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop on the opening day, featuring work by the venue's studio-holders.

On the same day, Print Festival makes it to Dundee with Awake, Arise or be Forever Fall'n (previewing from 7pm), an exhibition by Katie Ravenscraig and Rachel Lee. It's got a historical bent, with the two artists incorporating research into the artist-led activity Dundee Printmakers Workshop Ltd, which came before the formation of Generator Projects (who host this exhibition) in 1996.

In Glasgow's Savoy Centre, Gallery UNIT host a manifesto event by Hannan Jones and Rachael Simpson from 7pm. Running in parallel with their own degree show openings, they consider the difficulty of exhibiting in a gallery space as public art practitioners. They've dedicated it to David Harding, David Simpson and David Jones – respectively also known as the founder of the GSA Environmental Art course, Rachael Simpson's dad and a certain David Bowie

Staying west, Glasgow Anew: Our Stories takes place in The Pipe Factory from 7pm – part of the exhibiton by the Settled in Glasgow Oral History Archive. For this event, there's a screening of the Our Stories documentary, which looks at "untold stories of struggle, fear, aspiration and success of immigrants from African communities living in Glasgow." It's followed by Q+A with the director and a collaborative musical performance.

Saturday 18 June

Glasgow Anew continues throughout the weekend: on Saturday, at The Pipe Factory at 6pm, the From the Horse's Mouth event features a short screening on the Roma experience in Glasgow, followed by a talk and panel discussion with members of Roma communities.

As part of Annuale 2016, at Rhubaba in Leith, Daniella Watson opens her How to Survive at Land and Sea exhibition with a staged reading from 4pm. As the venue's writer in residence for the last year, she's been building stories and ephemera of a little-known art collective called The Trajectorians, presented alongside a sound installation.

Back in Glasgow, It's the last weekend of The End of Time, Lebanese artist Akram Zaatari's exhibition at The Common Guild – you can read a review of the poignant and challenging exhibition in this month's print issue, and on Saturday, expert Dr Chad Elias will discuss the work from 3-5pm. Book via Eventbrite: tickets are free and all are welcome.

In Tramway, you can catch the preview of Penchaan: Art from Another India from 2-6pm, described as "an exciting collaborative project which showcases a new collection of North Indian art commissioned for Glasgow Museums."

Sunday 19 June

There's more Annuale on Sunday with the H-Frame Workshop, an event addressing the potential and pitfalls of collective and group activity workshops. You can find the venue, Basic Mountain, at 1A Hill Street, EH2 3JP Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Finally, we return to Glasgow anew for a relaxing close to the weekend: Mindful Afternoon with Tea (The Pipe Factory, 2-3pm) involves guided meditation, relaxation and, we can only presume, tea for all. Further info and booking details (it's free, by the way) can all be found at Eventbrite.
