Konbo Arcade Cafe

If you're a fan of old school gaming and lovely coffee but have struggled to blend the two together without getting grounds all over your Mega Drive controller, fear not.  Konbo, Edinburgh's first arcade cafe, is here to help.

Paying homage to Japan's gaming culture, the cafe has brought a touch of Tokyo to Tollcross with its range of vintage arcade machines and imported snacks.  Gaming afficionados will be impressed with the selection of games which can be played upon the original boards (PCBS), from retro classics to little-heard-of, specialist numbers.  Because there are more games than machines, the selection will always be rotating too, meaning you could be zapping back and forth between the 80s and 90s from one week to the next.

If those cautionary tales your parents told you about getting square eyes start to niggle, you can always kick back in the laidback cafe, which serves up a nice range of local produce as well as Japanese fare.  Expect to find coffee from Artisan Roast, as well as fresh treats from Tasty Buns and Dough Re Mi for all your refuelling needs.
