O2 Academy Edinburgh

The O2 Academy Edinburgh (formerly known as the Corn Exchange) might be a bit out of the way compared to your usual Edinburgh haunts, but let's not second-guess it: this huge hall on the edge of town has played host to acts from Oasis and Blur to Queens Of The Stone Age and Goldfrapp (not together though; that'd be weird).

One things for sure though: people will travel to get here, and their ample parking space can't hurt. Aside from a handful of live gigs over the month, The Corn Exchange is pretty flexible with seven separate spaces ready to be shaped and shifted as and when required. It’s readily available for corporate or private hire: you can catch pretty much anything here. Wedding fairs, receptions, sporting events... even more unusual appearances such as Edinburgh Yarn Festival and Scottish Tattoo Convention – anyone?

Despite all that, there's surprisingly still a regular pub open all afternoon and evening seven days a week. Drinks are at the expected prices for this listed establishment – suppose there's a going rate for a bit of class!
