Chemikal Underground's electro-pop prodigy Miaoux Miaoux returns with 'Luxury Discovery', taken from recent sophomore album School of Velocity.

Miaoux Miaoux mainstay Julian Corrie had this to say about the track and video, directed by David Lemm: "The track is kind of an anti consumerist rant, dressed up as a summer pop tune. I wanted to play on the double meaning of 'oh my god', an expression of delight and surprise which gradually becomes an expression of horror as the track progresses and the shopping centre becomes a cannibal zombie playground. I love the juxtaposition of bright happiness and ultraviolence. Shout out to George Romero obvs."

Describing his treatment of the track, director Lemm said: "Julian was really clear on the concepts behind the track and came to me with the idea of including a shopping mall in some way, so I used that as a starting point and kind of ran with it.

"The track initially reminded me of early 90s video game soundtracks so I wanted to reference that in the graphic aesthetic, whilst keeping a saccharine, slightly sinister tone throughout – before the eventual Romero/Carpenter inspired climax."

Miaoux Miaoux will play T in the Park's BBC Introducing stage this coming Sunday (12 Jul), joining the likes of BDY_PRTS and Man of Moon – more information and tickets available here
