As a vibrant bar with a central location, The Newsroom gets fairly busy, but never more so in the late afternoon when it tends to cater to a predominantly after-work crowd. Still, it is spacious enough so that you'll usually find a table should you wish to eat.

With a recently updated food menu encompassing matured Steak Burgers to Roast Veg and Halloumi Foccacia, along with boasting a large selection of premium spirits, fresh fruity cocktails, comphensive wine and champagnes to choose from, you are spoilt for choice as to where to spend your pennies here.

Various DJs take to the decks on the wekeend, and Thursday nights see the ever popular Dr. Paul's £50 cash price pub quiz (why not fund another weeks worth of Newsroom cocktails!)

The decor is stylish and inspired, the seating is comfortable and the staff are friendly. The music starts upstairs in the Newsroom from 9pm, and if at 1am more cocktails and dancing are in order (and when, quite frankly, is 1am not the right time for that?), you can head to their downstairs club venue, named 511, which you can enter through a separate entrance.

Open till 3am, you can expect something different every Friday- garage, house, guilty pleasures, techno, beats and music from resident clubs XY and Souloco. On Saturdays, they simple cater to the masses.

On top of all the above, The Newsroom also hosts free fringe comedy with Laughing Horse throughout August - isn't that nice! If you're keen to see where else you can catch live free comedy during the fringe, we'd also suggest Dropkick Murphy's and The Three Sisters.
