Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh's legendary craggy historic landmark, sitting proud a-top Princess Street Gardens (i.e. it's pretty hard to miss from most spots in town), is worth the walk for tourists and locals alike keen to check out one of the Queen's many residences. With lots of events happening throughout the year, from the world famous Tattoo (mostly frequented by tourists who buy up the tickets months in advance) to fireworks and private functions. The views from up there are also pretty spectacular, as you can probably imagine.
