Just as you have decided to write off the area once and for all, along comes this oasis of beer to offer a much needed spark of promise for Cowgate.

Stripped-back brick walls and comfy couches makes for a great venue to settle in and start exploring their vast collection - almost eighty bottled beers pack out the fridge and there are five BrewDog draughts and at least as many guest ales. Should you want to make a night out of it, or just get carried away playing one of their board games - pizza, cheese and meat boards are served until closing time.
