Beehive Inn

The deceptively spacious Beehive Inn has had its drinking licence for over four centuries, existing in its current incarnation since the mid-1800s. While it's easy to get lost in speculation about exactly what this little pub has born witness to (it's hemmed in between the macabre Grassmarket gallows at the front and the craggy shadow of Edinburgh Castle at the back) why not do it while chomping on one of Beehive's traditional pub dishes in the Dining Room? As far as eating al fresco goes, the impressive split-level terrace has a spectacular view of the Castle and a good smattering of picnic tables.
