An Edinburgh Institution, the Cameo has long held its own despite stiff competition on Lothian Road. Running since 1914, the Cameo is one of the oldest cinemas in Scotland with much of its beautifully preserved original interior decor still intact, worthy of a visit in itself. Having expanded since the days of silent cinema, the Cameo now has three screens showing a wide range of international releases with an elegantly refurbished bar perfect for afternoon snacks or pre-film drinks. And for something a little bit special, the Cameo hosts a range of nights dedicated to artists it admires, as well as quizzes, opportunities to DJ and much more.
