Cameo Cinema

A bit of an Edinburgh Institution, the Cameo Cinema has long held its own despite stiff nearby competition. Running since 1914, the Cameo is one of the oldest cinemas in Scotland with much of its beautifully preserved original interior decor still intact, which makes it worthy of a visit in itself. Having expanded since the days of silent cinema, the Cameo now has three screens showing a wide range of international releases with an elegantly refurbished bar area perfect for afternoon snacks, pre-film drinks, or indeed the all-important drinks you can take into the cinema with you. Also look out for their all-night horror marathons, one-off music screenings and the regular film quiz.
