Old Town Street Food Festival

The sun's out, meaning al fresco fun-times are well and truly on the horizon. Re-initiate yourself into the wonder of doing things outdoors(!) by making your way down to the Old Town Street Food Festival this weekend. There you'll find two live stages positively heaving with up-and-coming musicians and DJs, seven bars, and a maze of street food vendors looking to put the nail in the coffin in any plans you had for obtaining a Baywatch bod this year. This Is The Kit
The Tunnels, Aberdeen. 31 Mar, 7.15pm
Kate Stables' beauteous project This Is The Kit – now ten years mature – arrives on Scottish shores this week. They'll be sprinkling folky gems from an impressive discography all the way up in Aberdeen's Tunnels venue on 31 Mar with support from S!nk – get your tickets here. Children of The Mantic Stain
Dovecot Gallery, Edinburgh, 30 March, 7.30pm
In Linder’s new ballet Children of the Mantic Stain, technicolour Northern Ballet dancers will perform choreography incorporating a rug that was created by Kristi Vana, Jonathan Cleaver and Dennis Reinmüller, while wearing custom sportswear designed by Christopher Shannon. The rug is also being exhibited as part of British Art Show 8 at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.

Reading Rooms, Dundee. 25 Mar, 10.30pm, free
Dundee's A Night With... series strikes again, bagsying DJ and producer extraordinaire Andrew Weatherall for the evening of intelligent dance music at the Reading Rooms. He's had a masterful finger in the musical pies of a long list of now successful artists, including the likes of Primal Scream and My Bloody Valentine. Such A Drag's 1st Birthday

Easter Sunday or Such a Drag's first birthday? If you're more interested in the latter, get glitter-bombed at Electric Circus's celebration of a whole year's uninhibited mayhem. Sure, Jesus just rose from the dead, but also, drag queens. It's practically a no brainer – sorry 'bout it.
Edinburgh Science Fest: Adventures in Viticulture
Summerhall, Edinburgh. 29 March, 8pm
A rather palatable sounding feature within Edinburgh International Science Festival’s programme, Adventures in Viticulture promises attendees an evening of raising a glass to the art and science of wine making. Uneasy Listening: An Evening With Clint Mansell
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow. 29 Mar, 7.30pm
You mightn't be aware of it, but Clint Mansell's probably had a hand in tickling your emotional synapses a on a fair few occasions during the last two decades. He's the creative smarts behind dozens of blockbuster original scores, from Pi to Noah, Requiem For A Dream to Black Swan. Tickets to see his work brought to life in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall will disappear in the blink of a lid, so act fast if you're interested.
Chris Ramsey: All Growed Up
Garage, Glasgow. 24 Mar, 8pm
Spare Chris the fury you're probably feeling about his somewhat juvenile show title. Instead, nip over to the Garage and let the waves of his Geordie flavoured comedy wash away your weekly stressors. All Growed Up's his first stand up show since 2012's Feeling Lucky, so get your tickets sharpish if you're keen to see this funny'un in the flesh.
Tangerine Screening
CCA, Glasgow. 26 March, 7pm
Filmmaking collective Digital Desperados screen the deliriously fierce and funny Tangerine, Sean Baker's critically acclaimed movie filmed entirely on an iPhone. Trans sex worker gets out of prison, finds out mid-doughnut that her boyfriend has been cheating with a cis woman, loses her absolute shit. Worth your time and all to raise dollar for charity LGBT Unity.
Secret Dining at Glasgow Restaurant Festival
Candleriggs Square, Glasgow. 25-31 March, 12-10pm
Sure, Glasgow Restaurant Festival doesn’t kick off until April 1, but you west coast foodies needn't fret. The festival's Spiegeltent will be prematurely assembled, playing host to a week of 'secret dining' evenings with live entertainment and special guest chefs quite literally cooking up an absolute storm (if we know Glasgow’s climate). Keep an eye on our Food News for foodie info that's even more rare and fresh than the slabs o' meat pictured above.
