If, like us, your invitation to Frank Ocean's 30th birthday party seemed to have got lost in the post then indulge in a celebration of ballroom culture at SWG3 this weekend instead. Northern City Waackers bring Scotland's First Waacking and Vogue Festival to Glasgow from 3-5 Nov, celebrating the differences between the two dance styles with a No Shade Ball, workshops, discussions, screenings and Shoot Your Shot / Dive afterparty.

For the traditionalists (or arsonists), it's also bonfire night/Guy Fawkes Night/that night about fireworks this weekend. You can watch the fireworks in various venues across Scotland but why not enjoy them in style with a bev in hand and soundtracked by a special guest DJ at Tweak_'s Bonfire Night atop Edinburgh's SKYbar.
