This week, arts, mental health and consent festival Spit It Out Festival returns with a gorgeous programme across Glasgow, Edinburgh and online. Elsewhere, Peaceophobia plays Tramway and Femmergy throw a Pride party

In the mood for a sexy summer festival about mental health? Spit It Out, Scotland's creative charity dedicated to opening up difficult conversations around consent, mental wellbeing, and healing, is putting on Spit It Out Festival for the second year, with a gorgeous programme of events, performances and workshops split between Edinburgh, Glasgow and online from 16-25 June.

Find workshops on spoken word by Bee Asha, skating by SkateBoobs, sexual pleasure and more, a Scotland-Zambian poetry night, and exhibition openings from Sophia Bharmal, Saffron Cherry and Halal Kitty, and even more besides. Peaceophobia
Tramway, Glasgow. Until 17 Jun, various times
In a Bradford car park, three British-Muslim men gather to find sanctuary. Part car-meet, part immersive theatre set against the background of the Bradford Riots and post-9/11, Peaceophobia unpicks narratives of Islamophobia and racism that undergird the UK. Image: Ian Hodgson.

Nation of Language
QMU, Glasgow. 16 Jun, 7pm
New York-based synth-poppers Nation of Language straddle the line between the cutting edge and nostalgic, infusing their contemporary songwriting with the retro indie-dance stylings of the likes of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Bloc Party. Mica Millar
Summerhall, Edinburgh. 17 Jun, 7pm

Femmergy Pride Opening Party
