Each week The Skinny team hand pick a selection of events from the Scottish cultural calendar to provide you with this guide to the most exciting goings on in the week ahead. From gigs, plays and exhibitions to spoken word and pop up cake shops, we give you the insider's guide to things to do in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee every Thursday morning.

1. Restless Natives: Street Feastival
Glasgow Collective, Glasgow. 14-15 May, 12pm

OffKiltr's Street Feastival returns this weekend, bringing a jubilee of edible goodies, market stalls, vintage vendors and DJs to Glasgow Collective for two days of foodie merry-making. The event is taking place as part of Glasgow's inaugural Restless Natives festival (more on that below), but with some of Glasgow's tastiest food vendors in attendance and the promise of of craft beer, confectionery and shakes galore, this wee Feastival deserves a mention of its very own. 2. Bossy Love

Nice ‘N’ Sleazy, Glasgow. 14 May, 7.30pm

After garnering quite the cult-like following over the last few months, Bossy Love are now throttling Scotland with their outlandish dance-pop sound. Catch the duo at Sleazy’s this Saturday – probably your last chance before everyone twigs and they’re playing sold out shows for a million pounds a ticket. Image: Emily Wylde

3. Denis Sulta: 4 Hour Sheik Down

Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh. 13 May, 11pm

Ex-actly the party your weekend's screaming for. This Friday sees Glaswegian boy and FLY resident Denis Sulta back at Cab Vol, selecting the night's beats from a Middle Eastern sound palette. With a background in hip-hop producing and a more recent preoccupation with house and techno, Sulta's more than qualified to satiate the whims of an inevitably eclectic crowd. Get your tickets pronto, though – they're selling out big time. Image: Sean Bell

5. Blackout

Traverse, Edinburgh. 18 & 19 May, 8pm

Scripted entirely from the pages of interviews with recovering alcoholics, Blackout is a searingly honest and brutal play written by Mark Jeary and performed by New Room Theatre. Straight off the back of a sell-out run in Glasgow and studded with five star reviews during its time in London, you're not going to want to miss this one. Image: Mihaela Bodlovic

6. Restless Natives: Couple In A Hole

Winter Gardens, Glasgow. 13 May, 7.30pm

Now we might be a smidgen biased, but we're of the opinion that you should make the trip down to the gorgeously glassy setting of the Winter Gardens on Friday to catch The Skinny's own screening of indie drama Couple In A Hole. The new film from director Tom Geens revolves around a Scottish couple living a savage lifestyle in the French Pyrenees following a personal tragedy. The showing will be preceded by a Q&A with Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones, Filth) and the men behind the film's soundtrack, BEAK> duo Geoff Barrow and Billy Fuller. Long story short, the night's set to be a bit special. But we would say that, wouldn't we?

7. The Scottish Endarkenment: Art and Unreason 1945 to the Present

Dovecot, Edinburgh. 13 May-29 Aug

This week's your first chance to The Scottish Endarkenment, Dovecot's latest exhibition featuring the works of over 30 major Scottish artists, including Joyce Cairns, Steven Campbell and David Shrigley. 8. Scott Gibson: Life After Death

The Stand, Glasgow. 16 May, 8.30pm

In 2009, Scott Gibson suffered a brain haemorrhage and underwent surgery to remove an aneurysm. Of course, it was this experience which triggered his journey into the land of stand-up. Years later, he's bringing his first solo show, Life After Death to The Stand. Get in attendance if you're in the mood for tonnes of chuckles and chat about loving, losing, and taking trips to Blackpool.

9. Restless Natives Festival

Glasgow's festival of indie arts and culture Restless Natives continues throughout the tail-end of this week, packing a ridiculous amount of entertainment into Glasgow's East End until 15 May.
