Enjoy Portuguese covers of David Bowie classics, as made famous in Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Paying homage to the late David Bowie, Brazilian musician Seu Jorge will be heading to Manchester's Albert Hall for a live set of his Portuguese-language Bowie covers, as featured in cult Wes Anderson film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Jorge, who performs several acoustic adaptations of David Bowie's back catalogue throughout The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, will revisit his role as troubadour sailor Pelé dos Santos alongside sail-shaped screens displaying images from the film, transporting the audience to the soft-hued retro dreamworld of Anderson's 2004 comedy.

Jorge's Portuguese Bowie adaptations have been regarded as an innovative and evocative take on classic songs, with Bowie himself once admitting: “Had Seu Jorge not recorded my songs in Portuguese, I would never have heard this new level of beauty which he has imbued them with.”

The evening will also feature a special screening of The Life Aquatic...; watch clips of Jorge's songs in the film in the player above. Jorge also takes his Bowie tribute to the Royal Albert Hall in London on 30 May, and plays this year's Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona on 3 June.
