Heads Up - Barnardo's Vintage

Barnardo's will be opening a new vintage and retro boutique on the West Bow of the Grassmarket

Armstrong's, the capital's reigning retro store, had better watch out. In January Barnardo's will be opening a new vintage and retro boutique on the West Bow of the Grassmarket. The shop will stock period clothing, accessories and jewellery, and opens as a result of the success of the vintage department in Barnardo's Stockbridge. Regulars to this shop will be happy to see more of the same in the new store, from 1960s jackets (for Nick Drake fancy dress/imitation) to 1980s power dresses. All the proceeds will go straight to the charity, which, as the largest children's charity in the UK, runs 371 projects nationwide and helps 120,000 children and young people. If you have any old cast-offs which someone else would die for, head along to the shop and make a donation. Otherwise, get spending and make a difference (and not just to your pulling power).
