Movie stars, Hollyoaks babes and fighting champs get in on the game

Occassionally, video games feature a top notch actor or two -- folks willing to lend their gravitas to a pixelated role or vocal performance. Never before though, have so many 'stars' graced a game as the new Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 title hitting shelves this week ('cept Vice City, maybe? - ed).

Whilst none of these are quite as cool as having Liam Neeson as your dad (Fallout 3), this is probably for good reason. C&C games are always traditionally a bit tongue-in-cheek. The line up includes J.K Simmons from Spiderman, Tim Curry from lots of things and even Gemma Atkinson from Hollyoaks.

As well as all these frequent actor types, Jenny McCarthy (former playmate of the year), takes the lead role of Agent Tanya. And then, as if real actors weren't enough, EA went and brought in a couple of MMA fighters (Mixed Martial Arts - or Ultimate Fighting to give it its cooler title), Gina Carano and Randy 'The Natural' Couture.

It's with this UFC chat in mind that one of our writers got proverbially 'schooled' by a MMA champ. To emphasise the general silliness of having these guys in the game, check here for the vid. After all, if UFC champions can't persuade you to play the game for the sheer lunacy of these cut scenes, nothing will!
