Blog by Josh and Paul x | 13 May 2010
The International Day Against Homophobia comes but once a year, on May17th (to mark the date the World Health Organisation officially removed homosexuality from the list of mental disorders, 20 years ago). This year, to mark IDAHO2010, the lgbt social networking site, Gays.com, alongside the IDAHO committee have organised The Great Global Kiss-in (www.gays.com/idaho) to celebrate love and equality as well as to protest against homophobia and transphobia.
In over 40 cities worldwide (bit.ly/supportidaho), this coming weekend, people will be gathering, flashmob style, to kiss and celebrate love.
In Scotland, we have two kiss-ins , in both Edinburgh and Glasgow:
The Glasgow kiss-in is happening 16 May, 7.30pm @ top of Buchannan Street oustide Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
In Edinburgh, Saturday 15 May at 13:00 outside the Royal Scottish Academy.
