Swine flu hits Katie Price's son

Katie Price's disabled son Harvey is in hospital with suspected swine flu.

The glamour model's mother Amy and a nanny rushed the seven-year-old to Surrey Hospital in Redhill, England, yesterday after he began having breathing difficulties.

Harvey is partially blind and is severely autistic, and there are concerns his medical conditions may make him more susceptible to the illness.

Swine flu is known to be particularly serious in children under 14. Harvey is to stay in hospital for the next two days so doctors can gauge the severity of his illness.

A source told the Daily Mirror: "The doctors weren't taking any chances. If he doesn't get any better, he might be there for a while. It could well be complications arising from potential swine flu but they don't know yet. He's a very poorly young man." Katie was completing her book tour when she heard the news, and immediately rushed to be with her son.

Her spokesman said: "Katie is very frantic. You would assess a normal child at home, but in Harvey's case as soon as he gets ill he has to go to hospital. Katie is preparing to take time off work until Harvey is well."

Katie's ex-husband Peter Andre joined her at the hospital. It is the first time the pair have properly spent time together since they split in May after three-and-a-half years of marriage.

Previously, their paths had only briefly crossed when handing over children Harvey, Junior, four, and two-year-old Princess Tiaamii to each other.

A source told The Sun: "It's the first time they have had one-on-one time since the divorce - something Jordan's been after for ages. It's sad it's taken Harvey illness to bring them together."

Peter was due to switch on a London store's Christmas lights yesterday, but cancelled the appearance.
