Sinitta is delighted with the current 1980s revival because she can wear clothes she bought 20 years ago.

The 41-year-old singer has no qualms about donning pieces she bought two decades ago, insisting there is no point in splashing out on modern versions of old pieces.

"I love shopping, but I am more price-conscious than I used to me and I'm buying more sensible, investment pieces," she said.

"I aim for a classic look, whether it's classic chic or classic 1980s. Luckily, I saved all my best 80s-look items, so I'm getting a second life from them now."

Sinnita rose to fame in the 1980s, and saw nothing wrong with experimenting with her style. Although she doesn't regret anything she wore, she admits there are some items she has consigned to the back of her wardrobe.

She told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I made a lot of mistakes when I first started out, because in the 1980s everyone wanted to do something wacky and be different. I remember I once sewed three swimsuits together, with one acting as a skirt! I know what suits be better now I'm in my 40s.

"I love monochrome pieces and recently I've been going for a lot of bright oranges and purples. 80s styles in muted colours don't work! I love body-conscious clothes because they hug my curves in all the right places."
