Michael Sheen's daughter can't keep her eyes open

Michael Sheen’s daughter falls asleep when she watches him act.

The British actor has confessed 10-year-old Lily – his daughter with ex-girlfriend Kate Beckinsale – couldn’t keep her eyes open when she saw him in political drama Frost/Nixon. However, Michael has impressed Lily by landing a role in the new Twilight movie, New Moon.

“My daughter finally realises I’m an actor, that’s how I got into the Twilight series. She is a huge fan of the books and has read them all about four or five times,” Michael told UK breakfast show GMTV. “When I was offered a part, I was very eager because she had come to see me in Frost/Nixon and poor thing, she did sleep the whole way through it. So it was nice for her to see me in this.

“She is a fan of Robert Pattinson, she is Team Edward. It seems you get divided into either Team Edward or Team Jacob – vampires or werewolves.”

Michael also revealed Lily was thrilled when the author of the Twilight series sent her an autographed set of the books. “Stephanie Meyers is fantastic. She lives in a small town in Arizona and is amazingly down to earth considering the huge furore surrounding her books,” Michael said.

“In fact out of everyone I met I was most starstruck meeting Stephanie. But she was so lovely, she sent signed copies of her books to Lily, when she was visiting me in London. Such a kind gesture, but it was a big deal for my daughter!”
