Lindsay Lohan to leave Emanuel Ungaro?

Lindsay Lohan’s role as artistic advisor at Emanuel Ungaro may be ending.

Earlier this year, the fashion house’s chief executive officer Mounir Moufarrige announced the 23-year-old actress was going to give “an electric shock” to the brand. Her first collection, a collaboration with Estrella Archs, debuted last month but was criticised for being outdated.

It has now been claimed Ungaro’s chairman Asim Abdullah is keen for Lindsay to leave her role, although Mounir is reportedly determined she should stay.

A source, who has apparently seen emails between the two men, told the New York Post newspaper: “Asim wants her out now. Department stores in the States have already told him they won't be picking up the line if Lohan remains a collaborator, so it's a serious issue.

“Mounir wants to keep her on because it was his idea to hire her in the first place. He's trying to save face.”

The details of Lindsay’s contract have not been made public, although it is believed to be worth seven figures.

Asim’s representative said on the supposed disagreement: “Such an insinuation is totally absurd.”

Lindsay’s collection for the label included shiny leggings and jackets and nipple tassels.

Following the show, designer Emanuel Ungaro – who started the fashion label but no longer works for it – dismissed the collection as shambolic.

He said: “It was a disaster. I’m furious but there isn’t a thing I can do. I have absolutely no link with that house. This happens to a lot of designers. We were creator/owners, responsible for both the designs of the house and its destiny. But when you give up your house, we’ve also given up our soul.”
