The Jackson family staged several unsuccessful interventions in the months before Michael's death.

Janet Jackson has revealed her brothers and sisters confronted the 'King of Pop' about his use of prescription drugs countless times in the weeks leading up to his death on June 25. In an exclusive interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, the singer claims Michael understood they were "acting out of love," but refused to acknowledge he had a problem.

When asked if there was a time when the family decided to act on Michael's drug use, Janet nodded and said: "Of course, that's what you do. Those are the things that you do when you love someone. You can't just let them continue on that way. We did, a few times, but we weren't very successful.

He understood it was out of love, because we cared. But when it's something like that people can tend to be in denial."

When Robin asked Janet if Michael was in denial about his problems, Janet replied: "I wish he could answer that question for you, and not me. I wish he could."

The complete interview will air tonight in the US. Michael died of acute Propofol intoxication at his home in Los Angeles.
