Beyonce's tour threatened by protests

Beyonce Knowles' concert tour has been branded an "insolent sex party".

Islamic conservatives throughout Northern Africa have called for the singer's upcoming show in Egypt to be banned because it encourages "vice and debauchery".

Some clerics even claim Beyonce's dance moves would threaten the country's "social peace and stability".

A protest group has been formed on social networking site Facebook to protest against the "nudity concert", due to take place at the Red Sea resort of Port Ghalib tonight. Over 10,000 people have signed up to support the group so far.

Beyonce is ignoring the protests and the show - part of her worldwide I Am. tour - is expected to proceed as normal, with increased security.

It's not the first time Muslim clerics have protested against the singer. She was forced to postpone a concert in Malaysia last month after the country's Islamic population complained the show was "immoral".

She also cancelled a concert in the country in 2007, after people threatened to protest outside the show venue.
