What is it like to fall under the spell of the piano? Genre-defying pianist Will Pickvance (creator of Anatomy of the Piano) spent years trying to refine his tendency to go off on meandering solos and outlandish musical mutations, before realising these were the things that define him. In this performance, he extracts songs, alters rhythms and corrupts melodies to tell the story of his relationship with the piano. ‘Clever, poetic, his piano playing exudes an effortless, almost careless expertise’ (Herald). ‘An exceptionally talented pianist with a quirky demeanour’ (ThreeWeeks).
