We Rock Like Girls Don't - Violence

Full of attitude and ready to make a point that perhaps isn’t particularly relevant anymore

Single title: Violence
Artist: We Rock Like Girls Don't
Label: Cargo
Release date: 20 Oct

Ladies, please don’t be too offended, this all girl rock ‘n’ roll trio are clearly just masters in irony. And in bringing us their new single, Violence, it perhaps works on a number of levels. They take an arrogant stance: head tilted back, sneering down their mics full of attitude, ready to make a point that isn’t perhaps particularly relevant anymore. There’s the standard feedback, grizzly guitars and edgy rhythms too, but it's all too mindlessly put together and already bettered by the likes of Sleater Kinney. We Rock Like (riot) Grrrls Don’t (anymore) would be more like it. [Emma Smith]
