The Cazals - Life is Boring

Yet another tale of suburban tedium

Single Review by Jon Seller | 06 Mar 2008
Single title: Life is Boring
Artist: The Cazals
Label: Kitsune
Yet another tale of suburban tedium, this time told by London quintet The Cazals on the band's first single release. Choosing a well-plundered subject matter like this requires a certain amount of confidence that would certainly appear to be in abundance. However, such ditties need to rise above the average to make any kind of impression and unfortunately for the boys, this does not. The musicianship is tight although off-beat drums, punctuated with an engaging bassline, are not enough to hide the Enemy-by-numbers (shouldn't that at least be Jam-lite-by-numbers? - Ed) effort on show here.
