Stardeath and White Dwarfs - Toast and Marmalade For Tea/Chemical

Single title: Toast and Marmalade For Tea/Chemical
Artist: Stardeath and White Dwarfs
Label: Half Machine
Though the first reaction of any sensible human listening to this double-A-side single should be to projectile vomit, I entreat you to try and suppress your gag reflex long enough to reach song two. Toast and Marmalade for Tea sees S&WD aping their uncle's band (The Flaming Lips) but with added sugar. Spoonfuls of the stuff. Just a glut of viscous, syrupy, orange puree cementing your teeth shut as you fight the urge to scream your disgust. Thankfully Chemical comprises an inoffensive lo-fi riff, simple catchy beat and some decent spaced out vocals. Certainly it eclipses the insipid acoustic strum served up prior. [Chris Cusack]
