It’s not often you hear a song that is both simultaneously laidback yet uplifting, but Skibunny have managed it with their new single Remote Control. The soft, sweet vocals combine excellently with the bright guitar riffs and steady drums to create a subdued-powerpop sound. The synth pads give the song an open, explorative and atmospheric feel, and it’s these elements that all contribute to the supremely lush sound of this record. With a euphoric breakdown pairing up some driving drums and an echoing, floaty chorus, the song builds up to its powerful conclusion, leaving you feeling warm and fuzzy. Everyone will like this, whether they’re looking for something relaxing to chill to, or a cute little number to get them moving.
