Raspberry Badger - Spectrum

A jaunty, poppy three-track

Single Review by Jamie Borthwick | 01 Apr 2008
Single title: Spectrum
Artist: Raspberry Badger
Label: Self Released
Oh, the difficulties of getting your sound heard when your music fits snugly into the centre of the indie spectrum. Young Glasgow pups Raspberry Badger have the first impressions bracket sewn up with a silly name, and make serious musical headway with their jaunty, poppy three-track. There's moments of crafty song writing and the tracks are all well harmonised with strong production. Things That I've Done has a chorus that flirts with being anthemic, while teen-girl-angst affair Danielle jogs along with just enough snarl to balance out the protracted chants of 'Daaaaaaanielle'. Sound effort; with a bit more experience the Badgers could make a mark on the local indie circuit. [Jamie Borthwick]
