Noah and the Whale - Five Years Time

Begs for repeated plays for days

Single Review by Jamie Stuttard | 15 Jul 2008
Single title: Five Years Time
Artist: Noah and the Whale
Label: Vertigo
Release date: 21 Jul

Forget 2007’s Umbrella obsession and focus on the track that this summer should be remembered by. Noah and the Whale’s latest offering describes how a blossoming relationship could be something special in the future, and gives us something pretty amazing in the meantime. Five Years Time probably wouldn't sound out of place in a certain recent indie American comedy and the Juniverse  (oh no, you didn't - Ed) is expanded by the glorious vocals of Laura Marling, beautifully pairing those of project visionary, Charlie Fink. As the ukulele kicks in, the handclapping and whistling motif is begging for repeated plays for days. [Jamie Stuttard]
